Police in Lagos State have arrested
three persons for allegedly attacking an oil vessel at Kirikiri area of
the state. A police source identified one of the suspects as Samuel
Oyakhire of No.70 Marine Road, Apapa. It was gathered that one Walkie
–talkie, four Nokia handsets, one Navy ID card, one seaman club identify
card and N17,000 were recovered from the suspects.
The Lagos State Commissioner of
Police, Umar Manko, who confirmed the arrest to Daily Trust, stated that
the suspects were arrested by a police patrol team attached to Kirikiri
Division.
“The suspects attempted to rob a
vessel which was about to discharge petroleum products into the tanks
belonging to Swift Oil Depot at Kirikiri Waterside”, he said.
Manko further stated that the case is
presently being investigated by detectives attached to the State
Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) Panti Street, Yaba.
