The boys received a warm welcome from Nigerians leaving Algeria.
Nigeria’s Flying Eagles landed in Algiers at about 6.15 p.m. on Wednesday for the 2013 African Youth Championship in Algeria.
The defending champions, who flew an Air Algerie Boeing 737-800 from Tunis, were warmly received by the Nigerian Ambassador to Algeria, Haruna Ginsau, as well as a large turnout of Nigerian residents in the country.
The boys are booked into the Groupe Hotels Adghir in Algiers and will
fly out to Oran, Thursday morning, on board another Air Algerie flight.
According to team secretary, Ibrahim Lawal, there will be an arrival
meeting for the team with the local organisers on Friday by 10 a.m. in
Oran.
The pre-match meeting for Nigeria’s opening Group B match against
Mali, will take place on Saturday by 12 noon at the referees’ hotel.
The match will kick off at 5.30 p.m.
The team’s first official training will be on Saturday at the match venue between 5.30 and 6.30 p.m.
