Colin Powell is one of the latest victims of the hacker known as ‘Guccifer.’

The hacker who vandalized Colin Powell’s Facebook page on Monday reportedly also infiltrated years of the retired four-star general’s email correspondence from an AOL account.
The Smoking Gun reported that “Guccifer,” a hacker who also published personal Bush family emails and photos, was behind the security breach.

“Guccifer” reportedly gained access to the former Secretary of State’s emails about financial and personal matters. The hacker also saw his correspondence with former government officials including ex-CIA Director George Tenet, former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage, and former U.N. ambassador John Negroponte.
The Smoking Gun, which is in contact with “Guccifer,” said Powell was not aware of the security breach until he was contacted by a reporter on Tuesday.

A spokesperson told the website that Powell had since regained control of the account and had taken steps to make sure it was not compromised again.
“Gufficer” made headlines in February when the hacker accessed and published emails and images sent between members of the Bush family.

They included family emails about the then-ailing former President George H.W. Bush and ideas for his potential eulogy. They also included photos of former President George W. Bush’s amateur self-portraits.
The Secret Service confirmed it was investigating "Guccifer” after that incident.
The report about the breach of Powell's personal emails comes as the Justice Department, Secret Service and Los Angeles police are investigating a separate hacking website that has published personal financial information about First Lady Michelle Obama, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger and wrestling star Hulk Hogan, among others.
